Notre Dame shows off New Cleats for Game in Ireland

The Notre Dame equipment manager tweeted a photo of the Ireland flag-inspired cleats that the team will be wearing for their game against Navy in Dublin for the 2012 season opener.

The Fighting Irish will look particularly Irish on their feet while in Ireland

Is this a fitting tribute or tacky?

It’s a cool shoe. Too bad the Irish national soccer team is not sponsored by adidas, otherwise they could wear this shoe during Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukrain.

You know, I just saw these cleats in the latest EastBay catalog, only they were pushing them in more basic team colors and they looked pretty bad..

Using them for flags like this(as I assume some Addidas sponsored nations might do) seems like the the only way to make this design look decent.
