The Kansas City Royals have unveiled changes to their uniforms for the 2012 season at a press conference this morning.
As expected, the changes were relatively minor and made mostly to their powder blue alternate uniform. The script on the front of the alternate jersey swapped colours, in 2011 it was blue with white trim, in 2012 it will be the opposite, white with blue trim. The powder blue cap worn the past few seasons with this uniform has been retired.
All uniforms will feature the 2012 MLB All-Star Game patch on the right sleeve.
There was also a slight adjustment to the road jersey and pants with the addition of a white stripe to the sleeves.
There were rumours about the addition of powder-blue pants to the alternate set to complete a head-to-toe powder blue look but this turned out to not be the case.
Finally. This is a great change. Those hats were HIDEOUS
I like the jersey, very good looking. However, with the All-Star game logo, it would have likely looked better having the dark blue as the main color behind the logo, then flanked with the light blue on each side.
does this mean a powder blue comeback?
next should be the Cardinals, Phillies, and (just for the hell of it) Nationals.
any other teams I am missing?
twins!
Blue Jays! But the minor change is good. I didn’t think there’d be too drastic a change. An all light blue scheme, well the jersey and pants would’ve been fine. The light blue caps would have been overkill.
I am disappointed that the new Road jersey will no longer have the crown-dotted “i” but a simple circle.
I like the powder blues but, they should have powder blue pants also. Glad they are getting rid of the PB caps.
I don’t know how kanas city fans will go for slight change in cap color
