Braves, Red Sox Wild Card T-Shirts

What an incredible night of baseball, I can’t even begin to sum up the roller coaster that was… wow!  And just think, if MLB added those extra wild-card teams in time for 2011 none of tonight’s games would’ve really mattered beyond home-field advantage. So, they’d be like a bunch of all-star games, I guess.

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Rays and St. Louis Cardinals on taking their respective leagues wild card titles. We all know what their Wild Card merchandise looks like (which you can purchase here for Tampa Bay and here for St Louis), but what about the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves?  Well, here’s the shirts MLB had made in case things went the other way around:

Who the hell would buy these even if they did make it? Who’s proud of their team winning the wild card?

  2. BaltimoreJoe says:

Yeah, and quite frankly, they’re hideous designs.

  3. @Laraptura, As a Jays fan I would be ecstatic if my team won the wild card

  4. Faz says:

When the Brewers won the Wild Card in 2008, I was ecstatic. Some of the smaller market teams enjoy when they actually make the playoffs.

  5. ToddReigle says:

Might as well box these up and send them to a needy third world country. No one here needs them…

  6. yazpudge says:

As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I’m used to major disappointment. I almost feel like this shirt would be a badge of honor for true Sox fans. Proof that you’re a fan through the bad times too. I’d kill to get one.

  7. BB says:

Agreed. The design is decent, but the font is atrocious and hardly legible (just look at the “C” in “Card” and the “N” in “NL”).

  8. PacificBlueDemon says:

The font looks like a bootleg version of the SEGA font.
