Orioles, Astros, Cardinals, Athletics, Angels, (Blank), Padres, Cubs, Pirates, Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers, Rangers, Brewers, Blue Jays, Mariners, Mets, Royals, Phillies, Braves, Reds, Dodgers, Expos, Giants, Twins, Indians.

The only one I have no clue on is the second row, second from the left.

That hat logo mural shown looks to be from about 1989-1990. The White Sox didn’t change their logo from the script C to what they have now until 1991 and the Mariners went with a new look in 1989.

  3. paynomind says:

This is tough, because there is no overlap. The Mariner’s logo throws the whole thing off. They didn’t put an S on their cap till 93, and its never been yellow, or appeared without a compass rose. Based on the Mariners COLOR being yellow, this would put the mural at 1979

  4. paynomind says:

Though, if you take the mystery White Sox logo as form the front of their jerseys they wore from 71-75, then this makes 1075 the only year that the White Sox had that C on their jersey and Baltimore had the smiling Oriole. But again, the Seattle S is off. I dunno. You are gonna have to explain this one.

  5. paynomind says:

    Fine. 1989 it is.

You need to write the owner of that site you told the hockey fan about and have him update his “cap logos” pages.

    • The mural shows a goofy looking serifed yellow “S”, the site shows a grey “S” with a compass rose starting in ’93… just saying!

Nobody’s got it yet but a couple of guesses are awfully close

  6. ibsouper says:

    It’s gotta be 1987

  7. Ian says:

My original instincts told me White Sox, but I have no idea why I didn’t clue into it. Very cool, and good luck with your bet, Chris!

  8. Let’s hope…

So the key to figuring out the answer to the logo mural was Minnesota and Baltimore… the Twins switched to the “M” in 1987, the Orioles last used that bird in 1988.

  9. Georges says:

1990. The White Sox’s cursive “C” logo made its final appearance that year.

  10. Ron Flesher says:

    My guess is 1988.

  12. Lee L. says:

It’s an unintentionally anachronistic mural made in the late 80s.
